Description: The small intestine, a convoluted, tubular, digestive organ, about 20 ft in length, extending from the pylorus to the ileo-caecal valve, where it terminates in the large intestine. It is connect to the spinal column by the mesenteric portion of the peritoneum, and divided into 3 parts, the duodenum (d), the jejunum, and the ileum (i).
