“The Tubipora is a calcareous coral, formed by the combination of distinct, regularly arranged tubes, connected together at regular distances by lamellar expansions of the same material. The aggregate formation resulting from the combination of tubes constitutes a variously shaped mass, which often attains a very considerable size.”
