Description: The Hortulus Animae is one of a series of woodcuts that was created by German Renaissance artist Hans Baldung Grun in 1511.It depicts the resurrection of Jesus. A woodcut is made by carving a wooden block to the desired design, and then rolling ink over the carved block to print the design on paper.
