An Iron Anchor on the Exterior of the Hot Shot Furnace

This iron anchor is attached to the outside of the hot shot furnace. These anchors were used to keep iron rods in place when heating cannon shot. The fort is a National Monument, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
