Dominican Republic Cold Porcelain Figurine of Young Girl with Curls and Bonnet (Close Up)

Dominican Republic Cold Porcelain Figurine of Young Girl with Curls and Bonnet (Close Up)

This female doll from the Dominican Republic is made from porcelana fria (also known as porcelanicron or cold porcelain). Cold porcelain is an inexpensive, pliable material that is used to mold figures. It hardens when exposed to air. She is very colorful, with a green and pink dress and a pink and green bonnet on her head. Her face is hand painted and she has several large curls. Her hands are holding a pink flower, and she is standing on a wood base. Tags says: “Mary -- Made in Dominican Republic. Handcrafted of porcelanicron To clean with a slightly damp cloth. Do not submerge in water.” This figure stands 5 inches (13 cm) tall.
