Exterior of Castillo de San Marcos' Northwest Corner from the Glacis

This photo was taken from the glacis of Castillo de San Marcos and shows the exterior of the St. Paul Bastion. The grassy area in front of the glacis is called the covered way, and the moat is just beyond the covered way. These different levels provided defenders further protection against approaching enemies.
