Greece Male Ceramic Doll Wearing Popular Costume with Hat and Vraka (Full View)

Greek man, dressed in a replica of a traditional Greek worker's costume. He has a ceramic (terracotta) head, hands and feet. His arms and legs are made with wire. He is wearing a felt hat and vraka pants, which are baggy trousers worn with fullness between the legs. Vraka pants were traditionally worn in Crete, Cyprus, Aegean Islands and other coastal regions of Greece. He is wearing a striped shirt with tiny buttons and a sash at his waist. Tag: "Skopelos. Popular costume. Authentic reproduction. Handmade Dora Parissis." Skopelos is a Greek island in the western Aegean Sea. The figure stands 13 inches (33 cm) tall.
