Apache Indian woman and baby. The Apache are natives of the deserts, primarily in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. The mother is wearing a cotton Indian blanket over a long black dress. She has braided hair tied with white yarn. Her earrings are turquoise, and her face is hand painted. She has felt boots and cotton bloomers. The baby's face is visible in the front of the blanket. Signed: "I. Apachito NM." The figure stands 10 inches (25 cm) tall.
