Scotland Scottish Lad in Red Plaid Tartan, Kilt, and Sporran (Full View)

Scotland Scottish Lad in Red Plaid Tartan, Kilt, and Sporran (Full View)

Scottish lad in red plaid tartan and kilt. He has a sporran (pouch) made of fur at his waist. A sporran performs the same function as pockets, and it is a traditional part of male Scottish Highland costume. He has a hat on his head (called a Tam o' Shanter or Balmoral) that has a red pom pom on the top and a feather on the side. The lad is wearing black vinyl shoes, representative of ghillie brogues, shoes with no tongues and long laces to wrap around the ankles. He has lace on his socks, collar and cuffs. The doll has a porcelain head and extremities with a stuffed torso. The hair and individually attached eyelashes are synthetic. Tag: “Leonardo Collector’s Porcelain Doll – My Name is Robert. Genuine hand painted fine porcelain doll dressed in fine fabrics and delicate lace." The figure stands 12 inches (30 cm) tall.
