This photo of a silk grass (Pityopsis graminifolia) flower and flower buds was taken at the USF Botanical Gardens. Silk grass, or goldeneaster, requires full sun for growth. The plant has grass-like leaves and yellow flowers which bloom fully in fall; the flowers also sporadically bloom in spring and summer. /p>
