Multiple tracks are offered to meet the interest and skill levels of educators.
The Florida Digital Educator Integrating Technology track is for educators who desire an overview of digital tools and how they can be integrated into all subject areas. This track will explore digital storytelling with video, enhancing understanding and meaning through audio, images and their impact on cognition, podcasting as an engaging tool that strengthen learning, plus subject specific sessions. Participants will learn to use digital tools and put their new skills to work as they develop collaborative projects with a team of educators. This track is for all EETT Grant recipients unless they have attended this session previously.
Software Specifications for Laptops
Participants in this track will learn the Apple Final Cut Pro workspace, how to capture video, create multi-layered tracks, add transitions, titles, video and motion effects, as well as working with audio. Participants will export video files optimized for use on the web or with Apple DVD Studio Pro to create DVDs.
(This is an advanced course and participants should have a good foundation in computer use)
The Teaching and Learning Institutes meet for four days (32 hours), Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cost $500 per participant.
Dorms will be available for housing during the USF Teaching and Learning Institute. Linens will be provided but we encourage you to bring your favorite pillow and extra towel.
The institute will be held in the College of Education at the University of South Florida. Directions to the campus can be obtained from the USF web site.

Parking permits can be purchased as you enter campus from Fowler Ave, be sure to park in the visitor parking area. Additional parking information can be obtained from the Parking & Transportation web site. It is recommended that you allow extra time to obtain parking permits and locate parking spaces the first day.
