ENVIRO-TECH: Enhancing Environmental Science Education through Technology

ENVIRO-TECH will focus on project-based learning activities where students and teachers will acquire both technology literacy and science inquiry skills by infusing the science curriculum by integrating technological tools to study our physical world. The schools will build on the inquiry and data analysis opportunities available through the Sumter Environmental Education Center, a cooperative effort between the schools and Cemex, Inc. This center is located at a former aggregate mining location where students participate in the mitigation of wetlands and habitat restoration. The project focuses on students in grades 6-9 at three schools in the district.
