    The National Education Association Foundation for the Improvement of Education (NFIE) is offering two grant programs to support art education in public schools: Fine Arts grants for elementary school arts specialists to support new programs that promote learning among students at risk of school failure; and Arts@Work grants for secondary school arts specialists to collaborate with technology savvy educators and businesses to develop technology-integrated arts curricula that meet high standards for student achievement.

    The American Museum of Natural History and the J.P. Morgan Chase Foundation sponsor this program to encourage students in grades 7-12 to participate in scientific inquiry by: choosing a topic; going on an expedition that will provide new data, questions, specimens, or observations in their chosen topic; and presenting their findings in the form of a narrative essay or an essay drawing from a field journal.
