Students will present a "How to..." speech from an Inspiration
created outline.
Objectives
- Students will use knowledge and experience to tell about events.
- Students will use multimedia to tell about events.
- Students will use effective speaking strategies.
Procedure
- Each student will pick a how to topic that can be descibed in 6 - 25 discrete
steps. (examples include how to make a paper airplane, how to make a bologna
sandwich)
- Using Inspiration, create a flowchart of the sequential steps of the process.
- Working in pairs, have students take pictures of each step in the process.
- Import the pictures into the Inspiration symbol palette at each step.
- Have each student present their "How to..." in the form of a
speech, giving exact step by step directions describing the sequence of the
activity as outlined in the Inspiration document.

- iMovie or Presentation software (optional)
Alternatives/Extensions
- Presentations may be filmed and imported into an iMovie.
- Students may use the digital snapshots to create a slide show to present
to the class.
