Make a public service announcement to assist people with understanding the importance of frogs and toads.

Objectives

  • Students will use knowledge of frogs and toads eating habits.
  • Students will use multimedia to create a public service announcement.
  • Students will use writing strategies to persuade people not to use pesticides.

Procedure

  • Give a student or a group of students a camcorder.
  • Have students video live frogs and toads.
  • Create a script to go with the video.
  • Add music to the video.

Materials

  • Camcorder
  • Music making program (Super Duper Music Looper)
  • iMovie or Presentation software (AppleWorks slide show, PowerPoint, etc.)

 

Alternatives/Extensions

  • Present the movie at an Earth Day Celebration or at a PTO meeting.
