How do I remove red eye from my images using iPhoto?

Red eye is caused when the light from the flash is reflected off your subject's eyes. This can often ruin many pictures taken in poorly lit indoor spaces.

Fixing red eye with iPhoto is simple:

  1. Click on the Red Eye button, then click on each eye using the crosshair pointer.

    Red-Eye button

    Red-Eye button activated

  2. Once you have done both eyes, click on the Red Eye button again.

  3. Click on Done to save your changes.

Another way to eliminate red eye is by first making a selection around the eye area of your subject, then clicking on the Red Eye button.
