Genus Eriodes. These have long prehensile tails, with a callosity under the extremity, as in the proceeding genus and that of the ateles. The species are intermediary between the owlers and spider monkeys, in size, form, and character. Three species are known: E. hemidactylus, E. tuberifer, and E. arachnoides.” —Goodrich, 1885
