“Of this genus, there is only one species, the Black Ictide. Colored black with speckles of gray. The hair is long and there is usually a tuft at each ear. The tail is long and hairy, and has a propensity to curl, as if prehensile, which it is in fact, to some extent.” —Goodrich, 1885
