The pea weevil (Bruchus) is often found in peas in its larval state during summer and autumn, as a pupa in winter, and in the adult form in late spring, when it comes forth to lay its eggs on the pods of the growing peas. To find the weevil in the fall, soak peas in water for a day.” —Davison, 1906
