Corpuscle of a Herbst

The corpuscles of Herbst are closely allied to the Pacinian corpuscles, except that they are smaller and longer with a row of nuclei around the central termination of the nerve in the core. They have been found chiefly in the tongues of ducks. Shown is a corpuscle of Herbst, from the tongue of a duck. a, medullated nerve cut away.
