Patterns
Students use a word processing program to make patterns.
Objectives
- Students will extend, generalize, recognize, and write a variety of patterns using an AppleWorks template.
Procedure
- Using a template, have students complete patterns.
- For example, if the pattern is red square, green square, red square, green square, what color square comes next?
- The students would use the fill tool to fill the last blank square red.

Alternatives/Extensions
- Students can make their own patterns to test their partners.
- This activity could also be done in Kidspiration using different pallettes. The teacher can also create their own pallettes to make the patterns more personalized.
