Poem Movies
Use iMovie to make a movie of your favorite poem.
Objectives
- Students will develop a sense of imagery by choosing approriate pictures to go with the poem.
- Students will comprehend the meaning of a poem by choosing approriate pictures to go with the poem.
- Students will create a movie in iMovie that depicts a poem.
Procedure
- Have students recite a poem into iMovie.
- Have students choose clips (from a teacher-created selection) to include in their movies.

- Clips for iMovie (scanner, website, or digital camera)
Alternatives/Extensions
- Show the class the student-created movies and have creators defend their choice of clip art or pictures.
- Students can read different parts of a poem and put all of their movies together to create one big movie for the whole poem.
