Reading Portfolio

Students will use Timeliner to create portfolios to track their reading progress.

Objectives

  • Students will use the reading process effectively.
  • Students will identify words and construct meaning from text, illustrations, graphics, and charts using the strategies of phonics, word structure, and context clues.
  • Students will increase reading fluency and expression

Procedure

  • Have students read familiar selections into a microphone and import into Timeliner.
  • Timelines can be created to show weekly or monthly progress.

NETS Profiles for Technology Literate Students

  • Use input devices (e.g., mouse, keyboard, remote control) and output devices (e.g., monitor, printer) to successfully operate computers, VCRs, audiotapes, and other technologies.
  • Use a variety of media and technology resources for directed and independent learning activities.
  • Use technology resources (e.g., puzzles, logical thinking programs, writing tools, digital cameras, drawing tools) for problem solving, communication, and illustration of thoughts, ideas, and stories.
  • Use keyboards and other common input and output devices (including adaptive devices when necessary) efficiently and effectively.
