GarageBand Orientation
Students will use GarageBand to create a one-minute song consisting of percussion instruments.
Objectives
- Students will be able to actively use GarageBand to make a one-minute song selection consisting of purely percussion instruments.
Procedure
- Explain purpose of GarageBand
- Orient students to starting a GarageBand "My Song" page
- Discuss the different symbols used in making a GarageBand song
- Explore the "loops" on GarageBand
- Make up a sample percussion song with the students
- Play previously made student percussion songs
- Allow students to work on their projects
- Listen to students' songs and discuss what has been heard as well as critique how it could have been enhanced

- iBook G4 Computers
- GarageBand 2 software
- Boombox Radio (to play students music aloud)
- Monster Cable (to allow communication between computer and radio)
