Learning Abstract Concepts

Students will create a movie with photos, graphics and music that depicts an abstract concept.

Objectives

  • Students will create iMovies depicting abstract concepts.

Procedure

  • The class will discuss abstract concepts
  • The class will brainstorm and list numerous abstract concepts (i.e., sorrow, future, wishes, infinity)
  • Each student will use the internet to find visuals they feel represents the concept
  • Students will compile the photos/graphics/music into an iMovie

  • Students could use same concepts to create wordless stories.
  • Students could evaluate the accuracy of the depictions by guessing what the concept is.
