Voice of America
Students learn vocabulary and make sociological connections through the use of technology.
Objectives
- Students will make sociological connections using technology.
- Students will learn the appropriate use of various vocabulary through the use of technology.
- Students will engage in vocabulary building exercises through engaging in web based exercises.
Procedure
- Ask students to take out paper and writing utensils prior to taking out their laptops.
- Ask students to sit with their buddy to work on Voice of America website.
- Students work through section on the website which is a sociological article which has a listening component as the text is read to the students.
- Students then summarize the article and determine the main idea.
- Students then share their responses with the class.
