Pirate WANTED Poster Students will investigate the character traits of a 17th and 18th century pirate. Objectives Procedure Materials Sunshine State Standards NETS Profiles Objectives Students will create a character map. Students will use character trait words to created the character map and look up the meanings using "Dashboard" on the Apple laptop. Students will search various websites for pictures. Students will create a wanted poster using Comic Life and created character map. Back to top Procedure Teacher will do a character map with the class using Inspiration's Language Arts template for a Character Map. Students will choose 4 words to describe their pirate with 4 examples for each character trait. Words are taken form a list compiled by the teacher. Students will then go to websites given by teacher and choose a picture to use for their Wanted Pirate Poster. Students will give credit to the website for the chosen picture. Transfer picture into iPhoto on the desktop of the laptop. iPhoto will work with Comic Life. Students will then use Comic Life to create their Wanted Pirate Poster with teacher guidance. Students will choose a background and import their photo. Depending on their character trait words, students will insert them into the word bubbles as if the pirate was describing him or herself to be captured. Students can add other words, etc., to complete the WANTED Poster.
