Description: The rocky ceiling of a coal mine is ornamented everywhere by exquisite tracery, inimitale representation of the delicate frond of ferns. Remove a scale of rock and we discover an exquisite fossilized fern. Fossil ferns such as these are often found in association with coal seams.
