A Deteriorating Tabby Wall

Tabby does not resist weathering well. Typically, the exterior would have been covered with plaster, or whitewash, to protect the tabby from moisture. This building was constructed in 1845, and remained fairly well intact until it the fire of 1903. After the fire, the exposed tabby was quickly weathered.
