555th Airborne Insignia

Insignia of the 555th Airborne (nicknamed "Triple-Nickels" and "Smoke Jumpers"), an all-black unit from the Second World War. Soldiers of the 555th didn't see action overseas, but fought forest fires (some caused by Japanese incendiary devices) in the Pacific Northwest.
