Chartres Cathedral, Choir Screen, Annunciation, Jean Soulas
This is one of forty scenes of the lives of Mary and Jesus, carved between 1519 and 1714 on the choir screen separating the choir from the ambulatory of Chartres Cathedral. This scene, carved in limestone, represents the Annunciation and is attributed to Jean Soulas and may be dated between 1525 and 1535.
