Poreč, Cathedral of Eufrasius, west entrance viewed through the atrium
This is the western entrance to the Cathedral of Eufrasius as seen from the baptistery on the west side of the atrium or forecourt. On the upper part of the facade, the remains of sixth-century mosaics – heavily restored – are still visible. The triple arcade with its hierarchy of arches anticipates the interior division of the basilica into a nave and aisles.
