A Stairway Leading to the Gun Deck of Fort Matanzas

This wooden staircase has been installed to allow easy access to Fort Matanzas. Originally, there was a removable ladder, in this area, to allow troops to enter the fort. The fort is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as Fort Matanzas National Monument.
