A Stone Texture with Pitting

A Stone Texture with Pitting

This appears to be some type of sedimentary rock, or possibly tabby made with small shell particles. There is one large hole, and many small pits, in this surface. The surface has an irregular texture. The fort is a National Monument, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
