This is Fort Matanzas. The fort was constructed with local coquina limestone. The fort is 50 feet long, on each side, and the main tower is 30 feet high. There are cannons on the gun deck. There is a round sentry box, at one corner of the gun deck. The sentry box is a bartizan, or garita.
