This is the Old City Gate of St. Augustine, Florida, as seen from the north. There are large, square pillars of coquina on each side of the gateway, each topped with a finial. There is a short length of coquina masonry wall, to either side of the pillars. There is a walkway, over what used to be a moat, leading into the city. The Old City Gate is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as part of Castillo de San Marcos.Galleries:Gates, Old City Gate, St. Augustine, St. JohnsKeywords:coquina masonry, gateway, old city gate, saint augustine, st. augustine, walkwayPhoto Location: St. Augustine, FloridaPhotographer: Dr. Roy WinkelmanDate of Photo: 10/08/2011Device Make: CanonDevice Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark IIExposure Time: 0.0166667F Number: 16Original Dimensions: 5616×3744Picture Orientation: LandscapeGPS Coordinates: 29°53'39.35"N 81°18'47.55"WPicture Number: 18503
