"Aurora", created by Mark di Suvero between 1992 and 1993. A marvel of design and engineering, its sophisticated structural system distributes eight tons of steel over three diagonal supports to combine massive scale with elegance of proportion. The sculpture's title comes from a poem about New York City by Federico Garcia Lorca.Galleries:Contemporary Sculpture, National Gallery of Art, SteelKeywords:art, aurora, district of columbia, disuvero, markdisuvero, national gallery of art, national gallery of art sculpture garden, sculpture, steel, washington dcPhoto Location: National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden, Washington, DCPhotographer: Chad CullenDate of Photo: 06/26/2009Device Make: CanonDevice Model: Canon EOS 5DExposure Time: 1/160F Number: 8/1Original Dimensions: 4368×2912Picture Orientation: LandscapeGPS Coordinates: 38°53'28.61"N 77°1'22.63"WPicture Number: 8144
