Burnishing tools are used in the process of etching. They come in different shapes and sizes. Burnishing tools are used to make certain areas on an etching plate smoother so they hold less ink. The less textured or smoother an area is on an etching plate, the less ink it will hold or the lighter it will print.Galleries:Hillsborough, PrintmakingKeywords:art, burnish, etching, metal, printmaking, woodenPhoto Location: University of South Florida Print Shop, Tampa, FLPhotographer: Dr. Roy WinkelmanDate of Photo: 03/08/2011Device Make: CanonDevice Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark IIOriginal Dimensions: 4302×3327Picture Orientation: LandscapeGPS Coordinates: 28°3'16.5269"N 82°24'49.4262"WPicture Number: 4341
