Chaya Leaves
This photograph of a chaya (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) plant was taken at the USF Botanical Gardens. Raw chaya leaves contain a toxic compound which can be destroyed by cooking. The leaves are good sources of calcium, iron, vitamins, and protein.
