Ground Sloth Standing

Ground Sloth Standing

Skeleton of a giant ground sloth standing on its hind legs at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Alive, these creatures rivaled elephants in size, standing 20 feet tall and weighting several tons. Using their massive tails as props, they sat upright to browse in trees for leaves and twigs.
