Gum Bumelia Branch

This photograph of a gum bumelia (Sideroxylon lanuginosum) branch was taken at the USF Botanical Gardens. Gum bumelias are small trees that grow in dry, upland wooded areas throughout Northa Florida and south to Pinellas county. The tree produces black, fleshy berries that are 6-15 millimeters in diameter.
