Hamerkop

Hamerkop

A hamerkop (Ccopus umbretta), so named for its hammer-shaped head, at the National Zoological Park, Washington DC. Hamerkops are best known for their elaborately constructed nests. These are typically six feet high and wide, weigh 55 to 110 pounds, and can take six weeks or more to build.
