Headworks at the Northeast Water Reclamation Plant
The first step in treating sewage is screening and grit removal. Screening removes plastics, cans, and other large objects that have entered the sewage system. Grit removal removes sand, stones, broken glass, and other types of grit that could damage equipment in the plant. Debris is collected in the yellow containers at the bottom of the headworks.Galleries:A Water Reclamation Facility, Northeast Water Reclamation Facility, Pinellas, Sewage and Water TreatmentKeywords:headworks, reclaimed water, recycled water, sewage treatment, waste water, water reclamationPhoto Location: Northeast Water Reclamation Facility, St. Petersburg, FLPhotographer: Dr. Roy WinkelmanDate of Photo: 08/23/2013Device Make: CanonDevice Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark IIExposure Time: 0.02F Number: 22Original Dimensions: 5022×3660Picture Orientation: LandscapeGPS Coordinates: 27°49'40.28"N 82°37'10.53"WPicture Number: 23472
