Hiran Minar, the Elephant Tomb

Hiran Minar, the Elephant Tomb

Hiran Minar is located on open plains and oversees all of Fatehpur Sikri. The land surrounding it was kept as a hiran (antelope) sanctuary. It is nicknamed the Elephant Tomb because of the protruding elephant tusks from it's center, symbolizing the novelty and grandeur of Mughal Empire.
