Pinebarren Goldenrod Flower Buds

This photograph shows the flower buds of a pinebarren goldenrod (Solidago fistulosa) and was taken at the USF Botanical Gardens. Pinebarren goldenrods grow to be 6 feet tall throughout the state of Florida in open flatwoods, disturbed areas, and on the edges of wetlands. These plants are attractive to butterflies and other pollinators.
