Purple martin birds like to live in apartment style bird houses. Their health and safety often depend on the humans that care for them. Most purple martin houses like this one are high on poles in the open areas purple martins prefer. The houses can also be lowered to enable their human caretakers to remove nests of other species and to replace nesting materials when if they become infested with parasites.Galleries:Birdhouses, Chinsegut Wildlife and Environmental Area, Hernando, Wetland HabitatsKeywords:Chinsegut, May's Prairie, bird house, birdhouse, purple martin, wetlandsPhoto Location: Chinsegut Wildlife and Environmental Area near Brooksville, FLPhotographer: Dr. Roy WinkelmanDate of Photo: 05/07/2013Device Make: CanonDevice Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark IIExposure Time: 0.02F Number: 22Original Dimensions: 3640×5472Picture Orientation: PortraitGPS Coordinates: N28°37'47" W82°21'08"Picture Number: 23180
