Reading Turbidity Using a Secchi Disk

This water sample container has a Secchi disk adhered to the bottom. By comparing the appearance of the disk to a standard chart, a rough measure of turbidity can be obtained. In this instance, the sample is about 40 JTU (Jackson Turbidity Units).
