Room of the Castillo de San Marcos with Wooden Ceilings and a Staircase
This photograph shows a room of the Castillo de San Marcos which is two rooms west of the chapel and northwest of the fort's entrance. The room contains wooden ceilings and a staircase. When the British controled the fort, they stationed a much larger number of troops here than the Spanish had. To make more room, they added a second floor under the high, vaulted ceiling. A fish-eye lens distorts the straight beams of the ceiling.Galleries:Castillo de San Marcos, St. JohnsKeywords:castillo de san marcos, florida, fort marion, interior view of castillo de san marcos, morning, national park service, st. augustine, stairs, u.s. national monument, u.s. national register of historic places, white wooden ceilingPhoto Location: Castillo de San Marcos, St. Augustine, FloridaPhotographer: Dr. Roy WinkelmanDate of Photo: 12/18/2013Device Make: CanonDevice Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark IIExposure Time: 0.25F Number: 22Original Dimensions: 5616×3744Picture Orientation: LandscapeGPS Coordinates: 29°53′52″N 81°18′41″WPicture Number: 25599
