Room of the Castillo de San Marcos with Wooden Ceilings and a Staircase

This photograph shows a room of the Castillo de San Marcos which is two rooms west of the chapel and northwest of the fort's entrance. The room contains wooden ceilings and a staircase. When the British controled the fort, they stationed a much larger number of troops here than the Spanish had. To make more room, they added a second floor under the high, vaulted ceiling. A fish-eye lens distorts the straight beams of the ceiling.
