Washington National Cathedral's West Rose Window is an abstract rendering of the creation. Set ablaze by the rays of the sun, the profusion of colors radiating from the center represent the glory of that creation. Artist Rowan LeCompte designed the West Rose Window which is an impressive 25 feet in diameter and contains over 10,500 pieces of glass. His awe-inspiring homage to the birth of the world was installed above the west front portal of the Cathedral in 1976. This adaption is a silhouette of the Gothic stonework tracery surrounding the glass sections of the window.Galleries:Churches, Ornament, Ornaments, Radial SymmetryKeywords:church, ornament, red, washington national cathedral, west rose window, windowPhoto Location: FCIT Photo Studio, Tampa, FLPhotographer: Dr. Roy WinkelmanDate of Photo: 02/08/2011Device Make: CanonDevice Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark IIOriginal Dimensions: 3348×3348Picture Orientation: PortraitGPS Coordinates: 28°3'40.85"N 82°24'36.26"WPicture Number: 3892
