The scale model illustrates the following features of Fort Matanzas. The observation deck displays a Spanish flag from the 1740s, chimney and a lookout soldier. The wooden stairs gives access to the living quarters for one officer. Directly below is the soldier's quarters, located next to the gundeck. The gundeck displays six cannons and four soldiers.
